Makes ~2 cups; enough to frost 24 regular cupcakes, 60 mini cupcakes, a 2 or 3 layer cake
8oz cream cheese, softened
¼ c. butter, softened
1 lb powdered sugar
1 tbsp + 1 tsp orange juice
1/8 tsp nutmeg
½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Combine the cream cheese and butter. Cream until light and fluffy.
- Add the powdered sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Beat until smooth.
- Add the orange juice and continue beating until smooth and fluffy.
- You can chill the frosting at this point and rebeat slightly just before using. You can also heavily chill the frosting and then whip. If you decide to whip the frosting if must remain thoroughly chilled up to the point of serving.
